Summer exhibition at Galeria Luz de la Vida in Competa
until 15 July 2017

Time for a very colorful exhibition by female International artists. Gallery owner Lieuwke Loth invited different talented and professional artists to show their art in the gallery. The gallery space feels authentic and cosy but in the same time presents a modern look showing the contemporary art.

Swiss artist Anne-Barbara Lenzin made a beautiful mosaic on the wall of the gallery garden. She loves to create special pieces on walls, commission for such works are welcome! She is also showing her ceramic sculptures. Her works of nowadays radiates soothing beauty and joy of life.

The gallery garden has been upgraded, changed from a ‘jungle’ to a nice and cosy garden and is now an additional exhibition space.

German artist Gerrit Oppelland-Hampel loves to create lively, colorful environments on the canvas. She is mainly attracted in the emotional quality and the atmosphere of a painting. The meaning of painting for her is to undertake an adventure tour – traveling through the realm of colours, senses and rhythm.

English artist Rosie Venables is since a short time living in Gaucin and she is making ceramic pieces. In the gallery a few of her special glaced ‘heads’ are shown.

Christa Hillekamp is attracted by wide and inhospitable landscapes – like deserts – in whose apparent emptiness and solitude, every single sign of life becomes of immense importance. And she is also attracted by inner deserts both in herself and mankind in general. Her paintings are always more a reflection of the emotional mood of her impressions than reality. Her paintings are made in mixed media, acrylics, with little additions of glass, metal etc. In the gallery her modern looking Dibond prints are shown.

Spanish artist Paz Sanz did impress several visitors with her big ceramic sculptures. The african ceramic faces and bodies are expressing inner piece and wisdom. The artists wants to show the women in their strongest shape, connected with their deepest energy.

Lieuwke Loth is a sculptor, but also makes drawings and paintings. In 2001 she finished her studies at the Academy of Arts in The Hague in the Netherlands. After her graduation she learned the professional of Bronze casting.

The sculptures do have a primitive look with often a symbolic or mythical meaning. She is looking for the soul in the work and if it starts to communicate with her she can feel the work is doing what it should do. For her it seems that her artworks can be a gateway to another world – a world of the subconsciousness and the heart.

You are cordially invited to come to the gallery to experience the inspiring exhibition. On the evening the 7th of July we’ll have a toast and artists Anne-Barbara Lenzin and Gerrit Oppelland Hampel will be present and will talk about their art. July 7th 19:00 to 21:00 hours.
